Working in the urban context as a leader can be overwhelming and sometimes even isolating. Desire Street Ministries strengthens leaders like you along your journey. To this end, we are offering a Thriving Leaders Series to help leaders and their organizations thrive and sustain for the long-haul. This is our third session of this series. Attendance at the two prior sessions is not a
In this session, we will focus on the third circle of our Thriving Model - the
effectiveness of the ministry - by building upon the first two sessions - the health of the leader and the health of the team. You will also get a chance to take another portion of the Thriving Index assessment, which will give you a glimpse of how effectively you engage those you serve.
We have the honor of a guest speaker, Phil Hissom, Executive Director and Founder of the Polis Institute, who will discuss successful and respectful community engagement practices with an emphasis on vision, dignity, and interdependent relationships. You will also hear from the Desire Street ministry team: Executive Director Danny Wuerffel, Dr. Anthony Gordon (who has lived and served in an inner-city leadership capacity for decades), and Angie Winn (who focuses on organizational health).
Whether you are a new or seasoned urban leader, serving in the capacity of an official leader or an unofficial volunteer, this session is intended to
dig deeper into your calling, the health of your leadership and your organization, and the impact of your ministry. This highly interactive session also gives you a great opportunity to share with like-minded leaders who are on a similar journey.
If you have any questions, please email Angie Winn at firstname.lastname@example.org.
See you soon!
